SEE-GRID-SCI participates in ICT 2008 exhibition
[Project News]
[The SEE-GRID-SCI project will participate in the exhibition of the ICT 2008 event, that will take place on 25-27 November in Lyon.
The project achievements will be presented at booth D.05 "e-infrastructure across the Globe", which is jointly organized with a series of e-Infrastructure projects. The booth will be a one-stop-shop for visitors interested in learning more about e-Infrastructures and their global impact.
The projects that are hosted in booth D.05 will highlight the value of einfrastructure technology that links researchers in the EU with those in Africa, Asia and Latin America with dramatic benefits for science and society.
The aim of the exhibition is to offer the audience an insight into the benefits of the e-Infrastructures in a global context, showcasing the
main achievements worldwide, the main applications and the opportunities of being actively
involved in the e-Infrastructure community.

The title is inspired by the concept of the Zero distance neighbourhood of global research.]

SEE-GRID-SCI: Empowering South-East European Communities in Next Generation Regional Computing & Storage Grid Infrastructure Usage

[The research and academic communities of South East Europe have made a big step towards joining the new era of long-term sustainable eInfrastructures in Europe, thanks to the SEE-GRID-SCI eInfrastructure for regional eScience (SEE-GRID-SCI) project, which successfully reached its end in May 2010. SEE-GRID-SCI kicked-off in May 2008 and in its two-year duration it had a catalytic effect on stimulating and empowering the regional communities in the use of the next generation regional computing & storage grid infrastructure. New scientific collaborations among user groups are now feasible with the provision of advanced capabilities to more researchers, with an emphasis on strategic groups in seismology, meteorology and environmental protection.]

SEE-GRID-SCI and EDGeS to connect Grids
[Project News]
[The EDGeS and SEE-GRID-SCI projects have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to connect the SEE-GRID infrastructure to other Grids using the EDGeS Bridge technology. EDGeS already connects Desktop Grids in several European countries, with the EGEE and EELA Grids. SEE-GRID-SCI project is a collaboration of Grids covering South-East Europe. Under the agreement, SEE-GRID-SCI and EDGeS will further collaborate on application porting and dissemination and training activities.]

BELIEF II: The Global Access Point to e-Infrastructures

[BELIEF-II is a project funded by the European Commission under the FP7 Capacities programme. Kicked-off in April 2008, the project will span over 24 months with the aim of supporting e-Infrastructure projects in order to maximize synergies between Research, Scientific and Industrial Communities in specific application areas.]

Policy-makers workshop for e-Infrastructures in South East Europe: working towards a common vision and a long term regional strategy

[The Policy-makers Workshop for e-Infrastructures in South-East Europe was held with great success in Athens, on February 21st. The workshop brought together delegates from 12 countries of the South-East European Region, including representatives of various regional ministries and national authorities, who provide support for the deployment of national-level e-Infrastructures.]
